Feng Shui Terms and their Meanings

There are plenty of terms that you have probably heard used in feng shui, so here they are and what they mean.feng shui

1.  Chi – Chi is the flow of energy, and it can be positive and negative.  To have balance and harmony, you need to have good chi.

2.  Sha Chi – Since Sha means kill in Chinese, Sha Chi means that you are killing energy.  It’s sometimes referred to as negative chi.

3.  Ba Gua – This means eight symbols and it focuses on the inside of the house.  The principal states that all condominiums are divided into eight separate locations.  The eight directions that are used in Ba Gua are north and northeast, east and southeast, southwest, south, northwest and west.

4.  Ba Zhai – This is a method that separates the women and the men in the west and east groups of people according to their KUA number.

5.  KUA  – This is what identifies a person’s compatibility with their surroundings and it’s based on their gender and their birth details.

6.  Sheng Chi – In Chinese, Sheng is uplifting and the term Sheng Chi usually is associated with the acquiring of wealth, success, and prosperity in all the aspects of someone’s life.

7.  Nien Yien – This is something that is mentioned in the formula for KUA and it means prolonged lifetime.  This is required for marital bliss and the quality of a relationship.

8.  Fu Wei – This is an energy that brings harmony and peace. It bestows upon one personal development, growth, luck with examinations, and intelligence.

9.  Tien Yi – This means heavenly doctor in Chinese and it helps to strengthen the mind and the body health.
